We own a pool. Despite the joy it brings our children, I like to describe my pool as a literal hole in the ground that money (and water) are poured into. Now, a couple of weeks ago Murphy decided to visit us and subsequent, our pool pump decided to kick the bucket. Contacting our local pool shop I almost fell over when I was told the replacement cost of the pump. Smelling something fishy (no pun intended) I reached out to Pool Equipment Oz for some advice. We had not dealt with them before but had purchased a robot pool cleaner from their other business. They quoted me the same pump, but almost $800 cheaper. They then suggested the Madimack pump as a direct fit alternative (and it was also $1300 cheaper than our original- if bought from our local pool shop AND comes with a 5 year warranty) A quick, "shut up and take my money" later, they delivered the pump. I installed it in under 30 minutes and we were back up and running. ...... or so I thought. A water test identified that we were not making any chlorine. Our cell had failed. Called the local pool shop (to give them another chance). $1000 for a new cell or $1400 for a replacement unit. In this instance Pool Equipment Oz were more expensive. $1700 but we were getting the Madimack unit. Again, delivered to the house. The install took a little longer as I had to go and get some PVC glue from Bunnings before I could complete the install. Now, I have a really quiet pool pump, a chlorinator that makes chlorine and a clean pool. Would I recommend Pool Equipment Oz? Yes. They know their stuff, don't try and over-charge and sell good quality gear. Alex was amazing to deal with.
